Business Courses

• If enrolled in MATH 1400 Elements of Calculus (3 cr.) in fall, then take BUAD 1560 Applied Statistics (3 cr.) in spring. If enrolled in MATH 1200 Pre-Calculus (3 cr.) in fall, then enroll in MATH 1400 Elements of Calculus (3 cr.) in spring.
• Move from ACCO 1030 Financial Accounting (3 cr.) in fall to ACCO 1031 Managerial Accounting (3 cr.) in spring.
• Enroll in ECON 1103 Microeconomics (3 cr.) in spring.
• BUAD 1001 Business Day 1 (3 cr.) are taken during freshman year, register for whichever is remaining in spring.
• Consider the following options if interested/and or you meet prerequisites:
  • BUAD 2001 Introduction to Applied AI (3 cr.): BUAD 1001 completed; and BUAD 1560 if concurrent or complete.
  • HURE 3001 Management of Human Resources (3 cr.): BUAD 1001 completed.
  • ENTP 3001 Entrepreneurship (3 cr.): BUAD 1001 completed.
  • COMM 1100 (3 cr.) Professional Public Speaking

Non-Business Courses

Any remaining MCC foundations courses (ENGL 1001/THEO 1001/PHIL 1001/ (all 3 cr.)). CORE 1929 will be taken sophomore year and requires either THEO 1001 or PHIL 1001. A general elective option is available if interested.

Courses

What remains on your graduation checklist? Review GPA, credit needs and courses depending on Discovery Tier Theme, Major, and non-business pursuits.

Tasks

• Audit final-semester courses, GPA, and credits. Contact COBAAdvising@marquette.edu with questions.
• For students who started before Fall 2025:
  1. Can you reduce your overall credits due to dual applying business courses in your Discovery Tier Theme and business core or major requirements? Reduction of Credits Request form if needed
  2. Review Electives (Non-Business) Open Elective form if needed for one business course outside of declared major(s), internship for credit course, study abroad course.

Thinking about studying abroad?

Spring sophomore year or fall junior year usually offers the most study abroad course options.

Students starting before Fall 2025 should save 9 Non-Business Elective credits for study abroad. All business students should aim to save 9 Upper Division Business Elective credits when possible. To prepare, complete ACCO 1030, ACCO 1031, BUAD 1001, BUAD 1060, BUAD 1560, ECON 1103, LEAD 1050, and LEAD 2000 at 91黑料网; Economics majors should also complete ECON 1104 before departure.

Finance and Marketing majors should complete their 3001 introductory major course, and any 3001 courses tied to upper-division study abroad plans, unless attending a U.S. institution program. Requirements vary by partner; visit the Office of International Business Programs for specific advising.
