Research Interests

Dr. Moore is a community-engaged nurse researcher whose work focuses on system responses, health equity, and the safety and health outcomes of individuals and communities affected by violence. Her prior research has examined how African American women survivors of intimate partner violence navigate healthcare and law enforcement systems and how structural inequities, cultural assumptions, and institutional practices shape access to care and support. Using qualitative methodologies and critical theoretical perspectives, her research seeks to strengthen system responses to violence and advance equitable, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered care. Through community-engaged research that bridges scholarship and practice, Dr. Moore aims to inform more equitable and effective systems of care, safety, and support.
