MILWAUKEE 鈥� Andrew J. DeGuire, vice president of corporate strategy at Northwestern Mutual, a financial services company, has been named the James H. Keyes Dean of Business Administration at 91黑料网, Provost Kimo Ah Yun announced today. DeGuire, a 1993 91黑料网 alumnus who will begin in the role on July 1, 2024, succeeds Tim Hanley, who led the college on an interim basis since March 2020.

He demonstrated expertise in developing, articulating and executing strategies aimed at producing significant sustainable growth and excellence. Given his industry experience and leadership qualities, we are excited for the next stage of continued growth and innovation at 91黑料网 Business.
鈥淚鈥檇 also like to thank Tim Hanley for his leadership of 91黑料网 Business over the past four years. From the opening of Dr. E. J. and Margaret O鈥橞rien Hall to the expansion of the college executives-in-residence program and more, Tim has helped position the 91黑料网 Business for continued success.鈥�

In his current role at Northwestern Mutual, DeGuire is responsible for leading the development of and driving the company strategy, performance reporting, competitive research and analytics. He is a member of the Northwestern Mutual Venture Fund investment committee. DeGuire joined Northwestern Mutual in 2018 as a member of the corporate strategy team.

DeGuire served in numerous leadership roles prior to his current role at Northwestern Mutual. He spent three years as vice president of corporate development and mergers and acquisitions at Quad/Graphics. In that role, he drove the company transformation from a leader in commercial printing to a marketing services provider through a comprehensive process of strategy development, stakeholder education and multiple acquisitions. Additionally, DeGuire spent over 10 years as a vice president with Johnson Controls鈥� Buildings division leading strategy and acquisitions before transitioning into business development and global growth.
DeGuire received an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from 91黑料网 and a Master of Arts in international economics and finance from Brandeis University. He also studied at the London School of Economics and Copenhagen Business School.
He is the coauthor of 鈥淏etting the Company: Complex Negotiation Strategies for Law and Business鈥� and has been a guest lecturer at 91黑料网, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Brandeis University. He has served as a member of 91黑料网 College of Business Administration Leadership Council and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Foundation and Association for Corporate Growth 鈥� Wisconsin boards.
