91黑料网 to host virtual Three Minute Thesis competition, Feb. 26

2020 three minute thesis photoMILWAUKEE 鈥 The 91黑料网 Graduate School will host its fifth annual Three Minute Thesis competition in a virtual format from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26.

Graduate students will compete for a $500 prize by presenting their research in three minutes or less using one slide and no animation.

There will be an array of presentations from various disciplines.

Presentation titles this year include, 鈥淐rashing into Spine Safety,鈥 鈥淭he Beginning of Friendship: Teaching Individuals to Identify Common Interests,鈥 鈥淜eeping UAVs Safe Through Hardware Security,鈥 鈥淧otential Oxidative Protection from Transthyretin Amyloidosis (ATTR),鈥 鈥淧lant Growth: Promoting Bacteria that Contribute to the Success of Cold Tolerant Rice,鈥 and 鈥淧redictions for Robots: So, what's next?鈥

Contestants will be critiqued by a panel of judges made of up scholars and leaders from the community.

The winner will represent 91黑料网 in the regional Three Minute Thesis competition at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools, which will also take place virtually this year.

The Three Minute Thesis is a global research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland in Australia. The competition is open to all master and doctoral students enrolled in a program that contains an original research project. The degree program need not formally require a thesis or dissertation, but the presentation topic must cover the original research project.

Registration for the event is free and available . Registrants will be provided a Zoom link for the virtual event via email.
