91黑料网 alumni couple commits $2.5 million to establish pathway program in partnership with 91黑料网 High School

MILWAUKEE 鈥 An alumnus of 91黑料网 and 91黑料网 High School recently strengthened the schools鈥 Catholic, Jesuit connection with a $2.5 million gift.
John Stollenwerk, a 1958 91黑料网 High alumnus and a 1962 91黑料网 alumnus, has established 鈥淭he 91黑料网 Experience Pathway鈥 along with his wife, JoEllen, a 1966 91黑料网 alumna.
The Pathway program offers several individual scholarships, enhanced admissions counseling and the opportunity to take 91黑料网 courses at a significantly reduced cost while in high school.
A former member of the both the university and high school governing boards, John Stollenwerk described his educational experience as a 鈥渄iscipline of love鈥 and also said his family took this step to help reduce the financial burden on families. He touted both schools for their 鈥渁cademic excellence, discipline and education grounded in values.鈥 Both John and JoEllen are current members of 91黑料网 President Advisory Council.
鈥淐atholic schools have shaped every aspect of our lives,鈥 Stollenwerk said. 鈥淏oth 91黑料网 and 91黑料网 High School have inspired an understanding that we are called to live our lives in service to others. Education lasts forever as it is continually passed on to the next generation.鈥
91黑料网 President Michael R. Lovell noted that 91黑料网 enrolls more graduates from 91黑料网 High than any other high school in the nation.
鈥淛ohn and JoEllen have continually given back throughout their lives and are incredible representatives of our alumni communities,鈥 President Lovell said. 鈥淭his significant gift shows their keen understanding of what will further solidify our two schools鈥 Catholic, Jesuit mission to nurture ethical leaders who serve others.鈥
Pathway program recipients who remain in good academic standing will benefit from these scholarship funds for up to four years of undergraduate study at 91黑料网.
91黑料网 High School President Rev. Michael J. Marco, S.J., emphasized the rigorous curriculum and shared-faith experiences in both schools.
鈥淥ur institutions share a commitment to forming Christ-like graduates who live in service to others,鈥 he said. 鈥淛ohn and JoEllen gracious gift provides an extraordinary opportunity to further enhance and integrate our common Ignatian mission of seeking the fullest possible development of our students.鈥
